CANCELLATION POLICY – Making Love Retreat

The Making Love Retreat is an intimate, transformative experience for a maximum of 10 couples. Every booking holds a special place in the group, and last-minute changes are often difficult to fill.

We understand that life doesn’t always go to plan — illness, family emergencies, and unexpected events can arise. We will always approach your situation with care and consideration on an individual basis, while also needing to honour the commitments and costs involved in running a small, high-quality retreat.

By paying a deposit or the full retreat fee, you are agreeing to the terms below. We strongly recommend arranging travel insurance to protect against illness, injury, emergencies, or other unexpected changes.

Venues now require large non-refundable deposits a year in advance, so the terms below reflect that.

Deposits

  • A non-refundable deposit or full payment per couple is required to secure your booking.
  • $1200 of the Retreat fee (general deposit amount) is retained in all cases if you cancel, as it covers fixed costs that begin from the moment you book.
  • Please note that all Retreat fees are non-refundable, except in the following case:-
    If you want to cancel and the Retreat is fully booked, and if a substitute couple
    can be found to take your place, who have fully paid their Retreat fees, we
    will refund the Retreat fee minus an administration fee of $1150 per couple.

If you cancel

  • Please let us know in writing at info@janetmcgeever.com as soon as possible if you need to cancel.
  • Timeframes are calculated from the date your written notice is received.
  • If we can fill your place, we will refund you the amount paid to date, minus the deposit and a $150 administration fee. While we will always try, this cannot be guaranteed.

Transfers (credit towards another retreat within 2 years, subject to availability):

  • More than 120 days before retreat: Transfer possible, minus deposit.
  • 91–120 days before: Transfer possible with a 25% fee (includes deposit).
  • 61–90 days before: Transfer possible with a 50% fee (includes deposit).
  • 0–60 days before: No transfer unless we can fill your place (deposit and admin fee apply).

Refunds:

  • More than 120 days before retreat: Refund of any amount paid minus deposit.
  • 91–120 days before: 75% refund of balance paid minus deposit.
  • 61–90 days before: 50% refund of balance paid minus deposit.
  • 0–60 days before: No refund unless we can fill your place.

Late arrivals & early departures

Our retreats are designed as complete journeys. To receive the full benefit, we encourage you to attend the entire program.
Unfortunately, no partial refunds or credits are available for late arrivals or early departures.

If we cancel

In the unlikely event that we must cancel a retreat, you will have the option to:

  • Transfer your full payment (including deposit) to another retreat or online program of your choice, or
  • Receive a full refund.

We are not responsible for personal expenses such as flights, accommodation, loss of work, or other costs arising from cancellation, illness, or weather events. This is why we recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
